Tyler didn't have to work until noon today, so we made some waffles for breakfast and enjoyed time together as a family. Last night Tyler installed the pot rack that I bought. It looks so fabulous in the kitchen! I'm way excited about the storage it will open up for other things. :) Since Tyler was home, I went on my walk while he tended Anna. Halfway through my walk it started to rain...at least it wasn't cold. It's 60 degrees here today which is wild because in OK it snowed! You would think that OH & OK were switching up weather conditions!
After Anna got on the bus, I went to the family history library. I arrived at 1:30 and left at 5:40! I was so interested in what I was doing--the time just FLEW by! I can tell that I will really enjoy going each week. Aside from that, not much is going on today. It's kind of nice, looking in my planner and not seeing anything scheduled for tonight. ahhh.
Lately, we have really been focusing on the fact that we want more children. We have been praying for more children everyday. Poor little Anna. Yesterday, she started crying...and asking for some brothers and sisters. It broke my heart and I cried too. I pray that we will be blessed with more children...and soon.
Don’t give up. Don’t you quit. You keep walking. You keep trying. There is help and happiness ahead. You keep your chin up. It will be all right in the end. Trust God and believe in good things to come. Some blessings come soon, some come late, and some don’t come until heaven; but for those who embrace the gospel of... Jesus Christ, they come. -Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

Discipline And Patience Are Borne By Disappointment
This morning Anna & I went to the consignment shop and listed some more items. I'm about to hit 100 items that I have listed there. Amazing...especially because I still have junk around the house that I don't need! I am excited to be downsizing. It's a unique feeling...I've always been a packrat. Tyler & I were just discussing last night how our first apartment was a 1 bedroom apartment with one tiny area for storage. We fit everything we had in it. However, as time went on and our living quarters increased in size...so did our belongings. I used to like having so much stuff...now I prefer simplicity of living. ahhh, yes, simplicity.
Anna & I went grocery shopping, got some gas and headed home to eat lunch and play a game before Anna got on the bus. It was rainy outside when she got on the bus, and so I thought I probably wouldn't get to exercise. Thinking this, I went to work getting things done inside the house. By the time I realized that the sun had come out and it was in the 60s outside--Anna was due home soon. However, when Tyler came home, I was able to get a 20 minute walk in. :)
While reading my scriptures today, in the bible dictionary, under the topic of "Faith," I came across the title for this blog: "Discipline and patience are borne by disappointment." It really caught my attention. Perhaps I will become more patient and disciplined by not getting those solos?? It also seems to apply to our not becoming pregnant for the past 4 years that we've been trying...who knows, but that phrase just rings true for me.

Chicken Stew
This morning Anna & I played Noah's Rainbow Race and just chatted. After Anna went to school, I mailed another half.com purchase and practiced a song with Angela. I dropped off an application at a local charter school. We'll see if Anna will be accepted or not. It looks like a good opportunity and we feel really good about it.
I walked today and then made some oatmeal cookies. I'm sure those cookies may have cancelled out any good the walk did...what do you think?? Well, the cookies had TONS of oatmeal and didn't have any granulated sugar in them...yeah, I know, I can rationalize all I want...they're still cookies!
My mom has a fun book called "Chicken Stew" that she read to Anna while we were in Oklahoma. My mom does all sorts of fun "voices" while she reads the book. Last night Anna called my mom so she could read it to her. Anna asked if she could call again tonight and hear it again. So tonight when Anna called to hear the story, she said..."Grandma Hatch, I can't really see the book." So precious! She then said that Grandma Hatch should send her a copy so Anna can read along while she reads it. What a sweet moment that was! :)
Thanks for all the support you've given me over the audition results yesterday. It was a really difficult experience for me, but I'm pressing forward! Love you all!

Audition Results
I won't wait until the end of the post to say that I did NOT get a solo with the Messiah. Yeah...pretty bummed about it, actually. The hardest part was learning that I didn't get a solo and then had to try to keep my composure for the next hour and a half until I could get in my car and cry all the way home. Forgive me, I don't mean to boast--but I seriously thought I was better than the other two sopranos. So it's hurts my confidence when I'm not chosen to have at least one solo. There were 6 solos and 3 sopranos that auditioned...one girl got an amazing 5 solos and the other girl got 1--the one that I wanted. I was pretty upset and Tyler gave me a blessing that indicated that there was a bit of prejudice involved in the choir director's decision---because I'm a mormon. He has a list of everyone and from what church they are coming from. I really hope that he wouldn't make such a biased decision based on my religion, but it's easier for me to swallow that he didn't want me to have it BECAUSE i'm a mormon than because I'm not as good as the other sopranos who auditioned. Make sense? I hope so...so alas, I won't get to sing the song my mom sang in college. *sniff sniff*
Everything else that I did today doesn't seem as great now because of the audition, but I did have a productive day. I did laundry, cleaned the house, read scriptures, mailed some things I sold on half.com. Busy day. And tonight I changed my cell phone number to a local Ohio number. (just so you know in case you try my old number and it doesn't work now) That's it for today. Tomorrow has to be better---right???

Jill On Parade
Yesterday I wasn't able to post, but it's just as well. It wasn't a very productive day and for some reason, Tyler & I weren't in a very upbeat mood. We think that Satan was working on us because we gave talks today.
Today I went to ward choir practice. Then I started leading the music today as the chorister. Then I gave a talk, followed by singing a musical number. 2 days ago, we were invited to say the opening/closing prayers...but after they heard how much we were already doing today, they said they'd contact someone else. It was my day on parade! And it went really well...I had one man say that he felt the Spirit stronger today than he had felt in Sacrament in a LONG TIME. I actually enjoyed talking in church, I tried to have the Spirit with me and be positive about the whole experience, and I think it was a success. Tyler also gave a wonderful talk, he's so good at organizing his thoughts, I'm much more scatter-brained!
After church, I invited over two new sisters in our ward, who just came from Los Angeles, CA and are originally from Mexico. They are long-time members of the church. It was a mom and daughter. I was so impressed with them and their dedication to missionary work. Their goal is to bring enough spanish speaking people into the church, so they can start a spanish branch here--since there isn't one already. I am glad that I was able to get to know them better.
Tyler was sustained as the ward clerk. He is now at the church receiving training in his new calling. I am excited for him--I know that he will do well in this calling, because he is such a dedicated person. He's eager to learn about how the ward functions.

The Day After Thanksgiving
Well, this morning I was up and showered before we ate breakfast and then I left for holiday shopping at Hobby Lobby, while Anna & Tyler went holiday shopping at Lowe's--where else would a man go shopping?? hee hee
I found several things for Anna for her birthday and also Christmas. I love this time of year! Tyler put up the icicle lights on the house--it took a LONG time, but it's mostly done. I have gone through all the Christmas decorations and have realized that I have WAY too many of them!!!!!! I used to collect snowmen, but then I acquired too many and I literally don't have the room to display them-much less store them. Alas, I will be getting rid of some, I'm sorry if this upsets any of you who have given me them as gifts...I do love them, I just seriously need to downsize. For example, our whole attic is full of ONLY CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS!!!! That's all! Yeah, I don't want to downsize--I NEED TO!
I think we're going to put up the tree now, for which Anna is quite excited! I'm trying to figure out what gifts to send to various family members...it's much more pricey when you live far away because you have to consider the cost of shipping along with the gift itself. *sigh* But I love being in Ohio, so it's all worth it. :)

Why Do We Do It?
Woke up this morning and dragged myself outside for my walk. I'm not completely used to being up at 6:45am yet...wonder why that could be. (sarcasm, please) I came home and showered while Tyler & Anna made pancakes for breakfast. Tyler then went outside to try out some gardening tips he heard on the radio, one of which is to poke holes in the ground to improve grass roots. Since we didn't have the fancy tool that you can buy, Tyler cut up two pieces of wood, each about a foot long and then nailed nails through it. He fastened each piece of wood to his foot--nail side down, of course--and then "walked" around the whole yard. Pretty creative for an engineer...although he didn't have to spend any money...:)
I spent the morning chatting with my friend, Nicki, as I prepared the turkey for it's cooking process...I couldn't figure out which end was the neck...finally I found it and put the stuffing up in the rear which in itself is such a lovely idea--eating soggy bread that spent the last 4 hours in a turkey's rear. We ate around 3pm. I took a picture of our table which was covered with food. We sang "Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow," which is a tradition in my mom's family. It was a lovely meal, if I do say so myself. I made everything we wanted and we have TONS of leftovers which has been fun.
After we ate the meal, we delved into the pies. I had some chocolate cream pie and some banana cream pie. I reduced the amount of sugar in the recipe, but it was still WAY too sweet. However, I didn't let that deter me from eating it. I later had a thought: If we stub our toe, we don't keep doing it over and over because it hurts, right? So if we eat something that's too sweet and it makes your tummy upset, then why do we keep eating it?????
Tyler cleaned out the gutters, so he can put up the Christmas lights tomorrow. Anna & I cleaned up my C2 room. It's now organized so that I can scrapbook. :) We played some games as a family after reading scriptures. After Anna went to bed, Tyler & I played a game of stratego--I'm getting better at it, but it's pretty complicated. It's the Chronicles of Narnia version. My sweet husband did the dishes TWICE today. I'm one lucky woman!

Gobble Gobble
This morning I went on my 25 minute walk and then made some grits for Anna & Tyler. I somehow became swept up in things and didn't get to take a shower until after Anna went to school...oops. Alas, I was fairly productive today. We are looking to purchase a pot rack, and so I decided to look on ebay and amazon to find one. I'm not sure which one we'll get...still looking. (I had no idea how many styles there are!) We are also looking to hang a huge picture of a temple in our living room. The one I REALLY REALLY REALLY want is of the SLC Temple at dusk. Have you seen it? It looks like the temple is bronze...I want to get a print of it in the 16 x 20 size, but I can only find it in the 8 x 10 size. My mom actually had a framed copy of it while I was growing up. I have called deseret book and they say they don't have it. :( Anyone know where I can get it??? If we can't find it, which is likely, then we will settle on another temple. Currently we're leaning towards the San Diego one. :)
I did laundry today and also did some cooking/baking early for Thanksgiving. I made 3 pies-pumpkin, chocolate cream, and banana cream. Then I made mashed potatoes and then mashed sweet potatoes. Tomorrow I will make rolls, corn, grean bean casserole, fruit salad, turkey, stuffing and gravy + heat up both the mashed potatoes. We will have enough to feed a small army, I think. :) I went by Hobby Lobby because the stamps are 50% off this week. I purchased some acrylic stamps for the blocks that I have. I hope to be able to spend some time actually scrapbooking instead of only purchasing items for it! ;)
Anna came off the bus saying "Gobble Gobble!" So cute! Tyler was kind and picked up some pizza for dinner--since I was overwhelmed with the cooking/cleaning in the kitchen. We're going to play stratego tonight.
For those of you who enjoy Weird Al---there are few of us, I know...it's all my brother's fault for numbing me to his weirdness until I actually find some of his stuff to be entertaining---this is a link to a music video that he recently made, which makes fun of a recent rap song. I don't remember everything that occurs in the music video, so please use caution and don't hold me accountable if there is anything inappropriate in it. 720
I woke up before 7am and made Tyler a nice breakfast of bacon, eggs, and fresh hash browns. Then I went on a 20 minute walk and arrived home as he was leaving to go take the GMAT. (Graduate Masters Exam...not sure on what the letters really mean-what he has to take previous to being accepted into a Masters program) Anyhow, 4 hours later he was done and his score is 720 out of 800. Yeah, 2/3 of all who take the GMAT score between 400-600. Tyler's in the 96%. Nice, eh? Of course, he's frustrated because he thinks he could have done better...
Anna still has a cough, but it was worse today and she had a fever this morning, so I kept her home from school. She was SO upset. To make things more worse, the bus came by to get her-even though I had called the bus barn this morning saying she wouldn't be going. She kept telling me how much better she was feeling and that she still wanted to go to school. Poor girl. I think she'll be going back tomorrow...if not for her sake, then for mine! ;)
I did quite a bit of organizing today, mainly in the kitchen cabinets. They weren't being used in the most efficient manner, and we can't have that now can we? Anna & I made s'mores cookies. They're fun to make because it's a typical chocolate chip cookie but with graham cracker crumbs in it. After they're done cooking and have cooled, you put one cookie on a plate and put one large marshmallow on it and mic it for 10 seconds, until it's puffed, and then immediately put another cookie on top...VOILA! S'mores cookie! I'm sure you were wanting to know how to make them...right?
We went to Target to look for a pot rack, but alas, they only carry them online and in super Targets, which ours is not. :( Then I went to the Craft & Chat. I'm ready for bed...tomorrow will be busy!

Auditions
I woke up just before 7am and went for a 30 minute walk. It snowed last night and the air was so nice & crisp as I walked. I can understand how people get addicted to walking, certain atmospheres are so soothing.
I went to meet with the OBGYN on base and he is starting me on some clomid. Unfortunately, I need to start it on day 5 of my cycle and I'm on day 8 today. GRRR! Guess I'll have to wait until next month. The doctor told me--"You've waited four years, you can wait another month." It's true, but I'm so ready for some happy news in the fertility area! However, I am finally DOING SOMETHING to help me become pregnant, and that feels great-let me tell you!!!
I played a game with Anna before she went to school. I enjoy spending time with her, she is such a joy to me. Her vocabulary is really coming along now. She wants to know "why" everything happens the way it does--she's quite a curious young lady. :)
When Anna got on the bus, I raced to visit Liz and went through the solo I wanted to audition with this evening. It went quite well. There are 6 solos, but I am only comfortable with 5 of them. The other one has too many "runs," if you recall me mentioning it. The song that I really want is called, "Come Unto Him." It's simply lovely. After the practice I went to see Tyler at his work and picked up some checks to deposit in our account, I then went to deposit them and then went grocery shopping at the commissary. When I finished getting everything on my list, I hurried to the check-out line only to see about 8 people in front of me--Thanksgiving time and all. I checked my watch and realized that time was ticking fast when Anna's bus would be by my house and I was at least 15 minutes away! I hurried and got done with about 5 minutes before the bus had come before. As I drove home worried about my little girl and being upset with myself that I had not planned my time better, I prayed to Heavenly Father to please help me and to keep her safe. Very soon after that, I had a prompting that I should call the bus barn, which I did. They were able to call Anna's bus and tell them that I would be late. I arrived home about 5 minutes after when she would have gotten off the bus. Anna's bus driver simply took her on the route a bit longer before bringing her home. I was so grateful for the bus driver and especially for Heavenly Father answering my prayers. He truly wants to help us in any way that we will let him.
This evening I went to the long awaited auditions for the Messiah solos. There were only 3 sopranos that auditioned. There are 6 solos available. I think that my singing went well. The other two sopranos are both lyrics, and I am a Mezzo. We shall see what the Choir director is looking for...yes, that's right. I do not know if I got a solo or not. He's waiting to tell us next monday. So...stay tuned!!! (and pray that I'll get one!) :)

A Lot To Improve On
It's easy to go to Stake Conference and leave with 100 things that you need to work on. Elder Eyering had so many good things to say. He spoke on realizing the potential of our families and that we should strive to have the Holy Ghost with us at all times. I could go on and on and on...I have a lot to improve on. The music went well, I sang in the Stake Choir. The Spirit was very strong, it was a wonderful day.
We came home and ate lunch and then had nap time! YEA! Now we're up and planning to play some games with Anna. It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is this week. I'm trying to make it the perfect holiday--since it's our first away from family. I'm going to make two things that I've never made before: mashed sweet potatoes with a brown sugar topping and stuffing. For some reason, we never had these in my family growing up. Alas, my husband did and I want this to be a fun holiday for him as well.
Of course, with Thanksgiving means that it's time to get out the Christmas decorations! HOORAY!!!! It's the most wonderful time of the year! I am eager to put white lights on the two lovely pine trees in my front yard. I can just picture them now...

Elder Henry B. Eyering
This morning I went out for my walk. It feels so good to exercise. It is so pure and simple and I feel such satisfaction from it.
Anna & I went over visit the Lawson's. Anna played with Sariah while I chatted with Sherry. It was a nice relaxing visit.
Anna went to the Cole's house while Tyler & I went to the Adult session of Stake Conference. It was so exciting to see an apostle of the Lord there! Elder Eyering spoke to us mainly on how we can improve our family life and that being in a family is a great blessing that Heavenly Father has given us. I need to do more to bring unity and harmony into our home. It was very inspiring. I'm looking forward to tomorrow, I'm going to both sessions because I'm in the Stake Choir. :) Double the blessings, right?

Early Thanksgiving
This morning I went for a quick 20 minute walk before Tyler left for work. It was nice to get out and exercise since I've been sick for most of this week and haven't been able to do it.
At noon Anna & I drove over to Tyler's work for an early Thanksgiving lunch with his co-workers. It was nice but a bit difficult whenever dessert time came around. My daughter chose to eat a slice of red velvet cake. It looked SOOOO yummy...but I resisted. :)
I went over to Angela's to practice a musical number then headed home to prepare for our company this evening. Little did I know that the email I sent to Greta stating the time of dinner never made it to her. So around 6:45pm, I called her and she was home!! (She lives 20 minutes away and we were "schedule" to eat at 6:30pm) I come to find out that she hadn't received my email and had actually sent me one inquiring about the time---which I didn't receive either---and they had already eaten dinner. (I had spent all afternoon baking...:( ) So they came over for dessert. It was still nice, but we have TONS of leftovers...

Plan Of Action
Well I am finally committed to my weight loss plan. I have prayed about it and feel that it is the right thing for me to do right now. I'm amazed at the confidence that comes when Heavenly Father supports you in a goal that you discuss with him. I feel very empowered and certain that I can accomplish this plan of action. :) Even though I know that Heavenly Father is always there to help me, it still is amazing when I allow him to be a more integrated part of my life and how things are much better than I could have wanted them to be. Make sense??
Today Tyler took Anna to her audiology check-up. Anna has a cold and so they weren't able to determine if she has a hearing impairment or if it's due to her cold. Anna went to school and I drove over to the Family History Library. A very friendly woman took me on a tour of the library and the endless resources there. Then she helped me start from scratch and she helped me for 2 hours get some pedigree charts done. I was so grateful for her kindness. I am quite motivated to do family history once a week there. I hope to have much success in searching out my ancestors. :)
Tyler is in Columbus. He went there earlier to lecture to some ROTC students about what he does on-base. He decided to go to the 6pm session since he was already in the area. I went to the temple last week, but I'm eager to be back there again and feel the peace that can only be found there.
Tonight I'm going to Shannon's house to finish off the "WIVES AND DAUGHTERS" series. We're excited to see how it ends!

Organize Yourselves
I woke up still feeling blah, but pressed forward with our early morning trip to the consignment shop. It will be closed next week due to Thanksgiving. Can you believe that Thanksgiving is next week?? Wow, how time flies by! We're planning to just have a huge feast for the three of us, unless any family/friends are able to come. I don't see the need to not make a turkey--leftovers work, right? It will be a small, but memorable holiday.
Since I have been sick, I have not been exercising-which is both good and bad. It's bad because I need to exercise if I'm going to lose weight, but good because it's harder on your body to exercise when you're sick. However, one nice thing is that I have more time to do things at home. Today that involved my going through all the cross stitching books that I have and seeing which ones are worth keeping. It feels good to go through things, I feel a sense of accomplishment from good organization.
I made granola-since we're out, and baked a biscuit topped chicken pie for dinner. Shannon picked Anna & I up and we went to the church to go through a song that I'm singing a week from this Sunday. I was only able to sing it once-since my voice is hoarse. I hope that I will be able to sing at the auditions. It's hard because I need to practice the song so I'll be prepared, but if I sing too much my voice becomes hoarse. :(
Tyler is out "building unity" within his quorum. He gave the lesson this last week from the General Conference talk on building unity within the priesthood. The Elder's Quorum President decided to organize activities to build unity. Tonight that is occuring at a local bbq wings restaurant. I'm sure they're having a good time. I think it's an excellent idea to have the priesthood spend more time enjoying themselves. We have so many Relief Society activities--let the guys have a little fun now and then. :)

Cold Season
Yes, I have a cold. I slept for 11 hours last night and was still tired when I awoke this morning. *sigh* I have to carry a kleenex box with me wherever I go. :(
Despite being sick, I actually accomplished many things today. Anna went to school and I read my scriptures, cleaned the living room, did dishes and made dinner for the missionaries. After they left, we had the Johnson family over for another backyard smores experience, then came inside for hot chocolate. Despite my cold, I had a nice time.
I have been practicing for the solos next tuesday. I can't remember if I mentioned this already, but I was thinking to not audition. One of the solos is really difficult for me and so I told Tyler that I thought I just wouldn't do it. He replied that I should do it, and that I had been wanting to do something musical and here was the perfect opportunity. Thank goodness for my husband. Now I feel really great about doing it. And also, I found out that one of the 6 solos is a song that my Mom sang in college and it doesn't have any of those pesky "runs" in it like the other solo does--the one that made me not want to do it at all. So I am putting all my energy into the song my Mom did and the other 4 that I feel I can do well. :)

No More Washing
Yes, it's true. The Dishwasher is in service. That's right--no more washing by hand! Hooray! This is truly a happy day. Or at least for the most part...I must have developed a cold last night because I woke up with a sore throat and my nose has been running all day long...which explains my rudolph nose I'm sporting as I write this entry. *sigh*
We went grocery shopping this morning after stopping by the bank. We made it home just in time for Anna to catch the bus as I brought the groceries inside. I ate some lunch, went by the post office, and then went on a walk. I read my scriptures, said my noon prayer and then got busy in the kitchen making dinner. I was really cutting it close and became quite stressed when everything wasn't going completely smoothly. My sweet family was so kind and supported me by setting the table and cleaning up for our company. I made canneloni, breaksticks, and italian green beans--yummy, but takes a lot of preparation.
Gary, Sarah, and the kids arrived at 5pm. We ate dinner, had an fhe lesson and then used our homemade fire pit in the backyard to make smores. Everyone had a great time. :)
At 7:30pm I went to the Messiah practice. I've been sick with this cold all day, but opted to go anyhow. I'm glad that I did. I surprised myself how well I sang despite being sick. I plan to show up for auditions next monday for the 6 soprano solos. I hope to get at least one of them. I pray that my voice will be 100% that day. :)
So I have a dishwasher working. I am so blessed to have my husband, he's too good to me. :)

Sing Sing Sing, I Love To Sing
I woke up late, probably because we were up until about 4am-Tyler working on the dishwasher and disposal, and I stayed up to give him support. So I woke up at 8:15 and left at 8:45am to be to choir at 9am. Choir was really fun. After church, I was set apart as the Ward Music Chairman. I'm very excited about this calling, I have several ideas that I'm eager to make reality. After that I ran through a song that I'm singing in 2 weeks. I came home and took a 2 hour nap, then headed to Stake Choir Practice. My friend, Shannon, drove me and then she came over afterwards to go over a song that I may be singing for Homemaking in December. My voice is a bit hoarse, now, but it feels so good to be singing again!!!
Temple Trip
We dropped Anna off at the Lawson's house and headed to the temple. We haven't been to the temple as a couple in about a year. On the way there, Satan was really working hard on us. We recognized it and were able to enjoy the hour drive to the Columbus Temple. It was my first time being there. It's a mini Temple like the OKC one. We were on stand by and both got in the session. It was marvelous being there. We felt such wonderful peace-something we both really needed.
Tyler has been working on the kitchen appliances since we came home. Poor guy, he's learning as he goes, but it's a bit slow-going. It's midnight and he's downstairs working hard. I hope he can figure out all the electrical/plumbing stuff.
I guess that's my day...I hope I can get to sleep soon, I have choir practice early in the morning.

Life Is A Juggling Act
This morning I had promised to make pancakes for us all, since Tyler was home due to Veteran's day. Anna was quick to remind me---over and over---until I got out of bed around 8. I made chocolate chip pancakes with a syrup made with cinnamon, butter, and honey. (wow-it was good!) After that, we readied for the day and then met Gary & his son, Nathan, as Lowe's to make some hefty purchases. My sweet husband bought us a dishwasher, disposal, and a steam vacuum cleaner! Now all we need is to install the dishwasher and disposal, which will take some work. Despite the house being a big mess, I am comforted to know that within 1-2 days, I won't have to wash my dishes by hand. (keep your fingers crossed for me!)
We spent the majority of the day doing things surrounding the items we bought at Lowe's. At 7pm, we went to the Ward Talent Show. My husband did a juggling act--it was so fun! I got it on video--now that we have a video camera! :) We picked up 2 jr frosties from Wendy's for Tyler & Anna. Then I read Anna some stories and we read scriptures. Tyler wants to play stratego with me tonight. I need to learn the rules...
I feel so emotional. I'm not sure why. I am usually such an upbeat, positive person-but I have been struggling these past 2 days and I'm very prone to tears. I'm not pregnant, just in case you might wonder, so I don't understand why all these emotions are coming out right now. Poor Tyler, he's already married to the most emotional woman in the world...

Boo-Hoo Day
Today was pretty odd for me. I woke up and did my liver cleanse eating--fat free foods only until 2pm and then stop all eating & drinking. DO NOT CONTINUE READING IF YOU DON'T LIKE GORY DETAILS--JUMP DOWN TO THE ***** BELOW. I took a shower and was talking with Anna as I readied myself for the day. I brushed my teeth and then Anna said that I had made a mess. I looked on the floor and there was a drop of blood. Puzzled I looked at my inner thighs and they were covered with blood. Shocked, I immediately got back in the shower and wondered at how my period had suddenly come and made such a big mess. After the shower I went to the restroom and there was more blood coming out. At this point I was pretty worried that something was wrong because it wasn't coming from the vagina. YIKES! I called Tyler and he rushed home to see what was going on. After examination, I had a small sore that had begun to bleed...all over me. Isn't that wild? I'm surprised how such a small thing could make such a mess and worry me! Anyhow, there hasn't been any blood since and I seem to be okay now.
*****I made Anna some nachos for lunch and then Anna & I took a quick trip to the store to buy a few items, then came home and just spent time together until she left for the bus. She's such a sweet girl. :)
Then I read my scriptures and prayed about my weight loss plan. I didn't feel anything regarding it. I decided to finish the rest of Sense and Sensibility. Partway through the movie, I started crying...then bawling...my eyes were puffy when it was over. What is wrong with me?? I couldn't figure it out...perhaps from the experience earlier? I wasn't sure...for the rest of the day I was a walking kleenex box. Tyler came home and did his best to comfort me. He convinced me that I shouldn't continue with the cleanse because I wasn't feeling well. Thank goodness for husbands! I felt better when I ate dinner and spent some time with him. He thought that perhaps the adversary was giving me a hard time because something big was about to happen.
We met with a member of the Stake Presidency this evening at the church. He issued Tyler the calling of Ward Clerk. BINGO! That's not a small calling, perhaps Satan was trying to discourage me beforehand. Any similar experiences out there???? Well, we're very excited about Tyler's calling. I just hope all this emotional crying will not continue tomorrow, my eyes need a break! :)

Weight Loss Plan
Anna I went to the consignment shop to drop off 16 more things that we don't need and that we'd love to sell! We get 75% of the sale price. I just received my first check in the mail for $128! :) I'm going to save up the money from the consignment sales and put it towards having a garage door opener. I just wish I could get it done asap before the snow comes!!!!
I went and played racquetball with Tyler. It was really good today-I didn't lose too terribly, that is. Afterwards I went to see what the scale had to say, it was not good. I determined that I will need to do more than what I am doing to lose weight. I came home and read my scriptures, prayed, and decided to make up a weight loss plan to follow, which is what i should have done in the first place. Oh well, better late than not at all. So I have made up my plan and I feel good that if I follow it--I will have the success that I am looking for. :)
I was going to go to the Family History library, but I have been out of the house the past 2 nights and I wanted to be home with my family. We cleaned up after dinner and played Anna's game called Noah's reading rainbow---candyland with a Noah's ark theme. :)
I am preparing for tomorrow--another wonderful liver cleanse. I know you all must envy me now that you got to read about it last month. I hope to do it more than just once a month...so my health will improve faster. Tyler has decided to do it with me tomorrow. Misery loves company, eh?? ha ha ha! We'll be able to cheer each other on with drinking the epsom salts!!!

Stake Presidency
I went visiting teaching this morning. It was rainy, but I really enjoyed being with Sarah and seeing our fun sisters. Visiting teaching is such a fun program, I'm glad to be a part of it. And Anna enjoys playing with Leia wherever we go, plus with the kids of the sisters we visit. :)
Anna went to school and I got a few things done at home. I spoke with Shannon for an hour about charter schools. Does anyone know much about them? We are considering the idea of sending Anna to a charter school next year. It seems that charter schools can control their own curriculum and aren't tied to the "no child left behind" program. They can use diverse learning activities and are public schools in that it doesn't cost money to send them there. I need to research it a bit more, but for now it sounds like a good idea for our girl.
We had an early dinner because Tyler came home early--hooray! Then we had FHE because we didn't have it yesterday. Anna is doing such a great job with FHE and saying prayers. A while back she didn't want to say the prayers, now she volunteers to say them at least once a day! We're trying to help her prepare for the primary program this sunday--she'll give her first "talk" in it. :)
Shannon and I went over to Sarah's house to watch more of the saga: WIVES AND DAUGHTERS. It's another english movie of Sarah's. I really enjoy these types of movies. We almost finished it and I'm really wanting to see how it ends! So much suspense!
Tyler got a call today from the ward. He will be meeting with a member of the Stake Presidency on thursday about a calling. So what callings do you need to meet with the stake presidency about? I realize that it would include stake callings, but what about ward callings? Anyone know?

Handel's Messiah
I went visiting teaching this morning. We had two nice visits. The second lady we visited shared that she is expecting her fifth child. I am so happy for her. And I hope that one day soon I will be able to say that I am expecting another baby. Until then, I can only share the joy of others having more babies...:)
Anna went to school and I had an appointment with our new family physician on-base. I have been taking a thyroid supplement called WESTHROID. I don't think that it is working very well, and so I'm switching to synthroid. I started it today, I hope it will work better for me. The doctor had me do more blood work, which is always a joy for my scarred veins. That year of donating plasma in college really messed up my poor veins. Never again!
I came home just in time to do some dishes before Anna came home. She watched a movie while I prepared dinner and cleaned up the house. Tyler came home and we ate, then he spent an hour and a half raking up the leaves in our yard and putting them into piles by the curb. There's a truck that will drive around and suck up all the leaves...how lazy have we become???
At Stake Choir Practice, a young woman mentioned that there will be a performance of Handel's Messiah in December and the choir is practising at a local Methodist Church. I decided to investigate this evening at their practice. It's a good choir and the director really knows what he's doing. I don't know about you, but I haven't sung the Messiah before, I've only heard it. Some of those songs are a bit difficult--especially all the "runs," and there's a lot of them! The director announced that there will be auditions for solos later this month. Yikes, I want to audition, but it will take some work to prepare for it...but I've been wanting to get back into music...and here's an opportunity..but I guess I'm a bit nervous because I can't just "wing" it, like I wing other songs...make sense? I think I'm going to give it a shot...we'll see what happens.
I heard today that Patriarch Gee is in the hospital. He's not doing very well. He's such a wonderful man and has been a great example to me.

3 Hour Nap
Today church began at 10am, but I was there for choir practice at 9am. I really enjoy going to choir and singing. It's good therapy.
I now have a calling. Any guesses? No surprises here: Ward Music Chairman & Ward Chorister. I know, I know, you're shocked to know that I would have this calling. I guess the last 10 years haven't taught me all I need to learn. Just kidding, I actually am VERY VERY excited because it's something I know how to do and truly enjoy. I wouldn't mind having these callings until the Savior returns. :)
After church we had meatloaf, scalloped potatoes, wheat rolls and mixed veggies. Then I crashed. I was so tired. This whole week I have felt overworked. (of course, it's my own fault) As you can see, I slept for 3 hours...guess I really needed it. I woke up, had some leftovers from lunch and then went to Stake Choir Practice, which went wonderfully.

C2 Room
Despite going to bed at 1am last night, I was up around 7:30am this morning...I made pancakes for the girls and Tyler. Leia and Anna played all morning and afternoon together. And when it was time for Leia to go home, she still wanted to stay. Anna thoroughly enjoyed having her here. We'll have to do the sleepover again.
I did it. I pretty much finished the C2 room. I can't believe it! It took a while, but for all practical purposes, it's done. HOORAY! However, there were crafts in there that I don't think I've seen since I've been married...so you can imagine the amount of dust floating in the room. I feel pretty sick from it all.
Remember the tree in the backyard that we cut down? Well, they cut the tree into firewood length pieces. The base of the tree was pretty thick so we decided to make stools out of them. Tyler dug a shallow hole and surrounded it with flat rocks. We now have a fire pit. We plan to cook smores for fhe on monday. It's a really fun idea and if you decide you don't want the fire pit anymore, all you have to do is fill it up with dirt again. Cheap and easy.

Sleepover
This morning Anna went to play at Sariah's house while Tyler & I headed to Kettering for a doctor's appointment for a semen analysis. We hope to receive the results soon. This is our first task in the infertility journey. It's less expensive and easier to fix the problem if it is with the man. However, with our fantastic military insurance, it is not costing us anything. :)
Afterwards we picked up Anna and took her on-base for her shots that are required to be in school in Ohio. She had to have 5 shots, all in her thighs. Poor little girl. One of the shots was supposed to really hurt, according to the nurse. After the first one, I think all the people in the waiting area were scared to follow us. Anna wailed like you would not believe. I felt so bad for her. I don't blame her for crying, who wants 5 needles sticking in your thighs?? Not me! Tyler was there so he could help hold her down. I couldn't watch. After that we took her to have a chest x-ray. (everything is on-base in the same hospital-very convenient). She has to have a chest x-ray before she meets with the pediatric cardiologist next month. Anna had a heart murmur and we have to have it checked on every year. I hope that the hole has closed in her heart, otherwise--I have been told by her previous pediatric cardiologist--she will have to have surgery on it. I'm hoping that everything will be closed up. :)
At 6pm, Leia & her mom, Sarah, came over for our girls night/sleepover. Tyler went to their house to play games with Gary. Leia & Anna had a great time playing dress up, puzzles, watching videos, and dancing. They went to sleep around 9pm. Shannon came over and we three ladies watched part of "WIVES AND DAUGHTERS," an english saga. We watched the first of 3 dvds. I'm hooked on it and hope to finish it up tomorrow. It was really nice to have some girl time. :) This is Anna's first sleepover, the same for Leia. They are so cute together.

33?
This morning we were all up and about at 7am. It was really nice because Tyler didn't need to get into work until 9am, so we had some family time. He actually got off to work late, so he said we wouldn't get to play racquetball today. :( That is why I don't have a weight for you today...because I didn't get to weigh today. Perhaps next week...
During my "women's" exam yesterday, the nurse told me to begin doing the basil temperature in the morning. I've done this before a couple of years ago. I have a low temperature--it's a low thyroid thing. For example, my temperature this morning was 96.3. That's a typical temp for me. I hope it won't prevent us from having more kids.
Since we didn't play racquetball today, I went on a walk. The high today was 39 degrees, so I bundled up tight and set out on my walk. Halfway through, I wondered what I was thinking when I put on so many layers. When I returned home, I was really sweating!
I could have worked on the C2 room today, but did laundry instead. I really do want to finish the C2 room, but today just didn't work out. Hopefully soon it will.
I went to a craft/scrapbooking class tonight. I made some cute cards. Tomorrow will be another early morning, so I need my sleep. Until tomorrow...

Double Duty
Yesterday we had Anna's physical at the hospital. This morning we returned to the hospital on-base and Anna had her eyes examined. It went very well except for the drops to dialate her eyes-which happen to sting. Poor little girl. She was a real trooper, though, and didn't cry or even whine about it. :)
After Anna's appointment I went in for my "women's" exam. What joy! It has been 5 years since my last one...when I was pregnant with Anna and had insurance. The Nurse Practitioner was very kind and helped me set up an appointment to get the fertility visits going. Tyler is set for his first appointment this friday. He's a bit nervous about...well,...what he has to do. I'm trying to find a sitter so we can go together to the appointment. I'm eager to do all we can to bring more children into our family.
Anna went to school and I met Tyler on-base to play racquetball and walk around the track. I weighed (just for fun) and hadn't lost anything, but actually gained back to where I had started. 1.I don't weigh on wednesdays. 2.Last night was Halloween and I ate candy. Despite all this and the fact that I hadn't lost any weight, I feel really, really good physically...like better than I've felt in a long time. The exercise and healthier eating is definitely affecting me. :) My sister suggested that I should be measuring myself each week to see how many inches I'm losing...perhaps I should start doing that.
I got a nap in after Anna came home, I needed it! I'm trying to be up before 8am and then with an hour of exercise a day---I'm tired! I went to meet the sister missionaries at a less active's house. She is from the philippines and has 5, yes 5 children under the age of 4. She has a 4 year-old son, 3 year-old son, 2 year-old twin girls, and a newborn. WOW! (And I thought that I was busy!) Plus, her husband is in Thailand and will be there for the next year. She really needs some help...in many areas. The children are in great need of discipline. I can hardly imagine what it must be like to take care of them all and not have any help! Hopefully she'll start coming back to church and then she will be blessed for her obedience. :)
