Don’t give up. Don’t you quit. You keep walking. You keep trying. There is help and happiness ahead. You keep your chin up. It will be all right in the end. Trust God and believe in good things to come. Some blessings come soon, some come late, and some don’t come until heaven; but for those who embrace the gospel of... Jesus Christ, they come. -Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

TOFW
This morning I was up before any of you, I think, around 5am. (that's 2am for you KC, you may have still been UP) My good friend Stacy came by my house with 3 other lovely ladies and we drove to Indianapolis, IN, for TIME OUT FOR WOMEN. It was a wonderful, wonderful program. Hilary Weeks hosted the show and sang several songs for us. I hadn't really heard her before, however she sings one of my favorite LDS contemporary songs entitled: He Will. (remember that song, Lauren?) We heard several amazing speakers, including a daughter of President Hinckley. She said that her dad is doing well and that he lifts little weights every night while saying "this is terrible!" Isn't that cute? I cried a lot during the conference. I heard things that I needed to hear, like: I do lots of things right, I was reminded of who I really am & that Heavenly Father wouldn't want for me to think negative things about myself--which made sense to me because I don't like it when Anna says she can't do something or when she isn't good at something, etc. Mainly I just felt closer to my Savior, and a desire to depend upon him more in my life. I feel that I will accomplish more if I trust more in him. A wonderful day. I even bought 2 Mormon Tabernacle Choir cds that I didn't have: Love Is Spoken Here & Then Sings My Soul. I also ordered 2 cds of Hilary Weeks online when I got home...she's great and I feel the Spirit when I hear her songs. The words are so simple--yet speak truths that I need to remember, like: He Hears Me, When He Calls My Name, etc. A wonderful day--I wish you all could have been there!

I love TOFW!! I go whenever I can! How did I miss that one?!
Jill,
Indeed I was still up at 2am my time, but I was in bed and trying to fall asleep by then. And here it is even later now, and I'm typing an entry onto your blog! I really should at least try to go to bed earlier...
Sounds like you really had a good time. I'm glad. I'm also sooo proud of you for making the collegiate choir. I know it's not exactly what you wanted, but that's ok. I'm also very happy for you that you got accepted into your desired program. Well done. How's your voice teacher?? Just the past Friday had my first voice lesson with my new teacher here (also my first teacher here in Reno). I think he will help me to some good things, and sing a recital to submit with my doctorate applications along with my bassoon stuff. I think he an share enough similarities in how we would like to improve my voice that we will get along quite well. This will also prove to be a challenging year for me on bassoon, based on the rep my teacher and I have picked out so far. We still have to pick 2 pieces, one of which needs to be a chamber ensemble, either my woodwind quintet or a duet or trio. But I have to remember that I signed up for this.
I'm glad you seem to like your other classes. Enjoy them. Learn lots. Work hard, but remember to also play hard. Ok, I'm going to bed now. Talk to you later.
