This morning I slept in until 9am = heaven! I was happy to get the sleep, but I felt like I was dragging to get the day going. I have been hoping (read: needing) to get some homework done on saturdays, but they just seem to FLY BY without me even cracking open a book, or an art song. *sigh*
Wasn't general conference amazing??? Elder Eyring called to the First Presidency and a new apostle. Wow, things are changing, eh? I especially enjoyed the talk in the 2nd session about sharing the gospel. That was a great talk. I also enjoyed Joseph B. Wirthlin's talk. It was hard to follow what he was saying, but there were some really wonderful ideas/thoughts in it. Good stuff.
We went grocery shopping before dropping Tyler off at the Priesthood session. It's fun to go shopping together as a family--I enjoy it. Shopping doesn't stress me out, really. :o)
I've got to do better on my diet. I need to. It's crazy how I'm not eating sugar or flour-except on the breading of the chicken nuggets--and yet, I just maintain my weight. I need to make exercising DAILY a priority and stop eating cn's everyday...I've GOT to do better. I need to. Feel free to give me a pep talk. I need it.

You can do it. put a little power to it.
I love Priesthood session.
Gotta love Pres. Monsons stories.
I'm sorry, but I just can't get excited about another old white guy sitting up on the stand. Where is the African, the Asian, the Indian, dare I ask - the female? Why are the leaders of this church not more representative of the actual member populations?
My wife told me not to say anything obnoxious to that comment, so instead...Go Cleveland - beat the Yankees!!
I would like to retract that comment I made. Sorry.
Let's motivate each other. You know I need the help too! I wish I had some good answers for you.
I love that the Church is lead by Jesus Christ and the leaders HE chooses. Although they may be "old" they have so much experience and wisdom! What about a German? Oh, wait, Elder Uchtdorf. The women? Sisters Cook, Beck, Allred, Thompson, and many others. One glance at members of the Seventy and I see Asians, blacks.
I suppose I wasn't clear. I see no equal or even partial representaion of the membership of this church in the presidency and 12 apostles. Sure - there is a German. Great! 1 German and 14 Americans. Please correct me if they are not. I suppose that the church membership won't ever be truly represented until there are at least 6 women.
But I only wanted to voice my thoughts and not start a debate or argument.
It is wonderful that we can all learn for ourselves if any/all of the apostles are supposed to have their current calling. We can pray to know if they are who the Lord would have in their calling at this moment in time. I also find it helpful to reflect on the knowledge that in the gospel we are all the same. No race is more important than another. The gospel is a wonderful guide for us in our lives. I am grateful to have it.
Maria,
If you recheck this post, give me a call, I would love to catch up.
How many kiddos do you have now?

Just think Jill,
You've had so much success thus far and it feels so good when people notice the results of all the hard work and discipline you've exerted. Don't give up just because it's hard...it's so worth it. Not only for your own health but also for your sweet family. Plus, you have been looking so fabulous! Imagine the boost 10 or 20 more lbs. could give you! YOU CAN DO IT!!
Love you!
