A know-it-all

I was a little late to my first class this morning and we were having an interval quiz (Music theory). So I hurried in & took the quiz. When I finished and took it up to the instructor--I realized that I was the first one done...out of the whole class...and I was late! After everyone else was done, she demonstrated all the intervals on the board. I didn't realize it--but I must have been volunteering (read: shouting out) the answers, because at one point the instructor announced for everyone to quiet down so other people would have an opportunity to answer. I was a bit surprised by this...since I've never thought of myself as someone who had all the right answers...then another student made some comment about how smart I was. Huh. That was a new thought for me as well. I guess I am understanding this music theory stuff pretty well--and it's strange to see other students struggling with the basic concepts whereas I am on top of it all. I guess I've evolved into that person whom the class abhores because I "get it" while they "don't". Of course, this is music theory 101...we'll see how it goes next quarter when things get TOUGH!

Italian went well. We did a mini quiz preparing for the midterm on thursday. Contrary to my music theory class, I need to do some MAJOR studying in Italian. Parliamo Italiano, anyone?

This evening we had a ward talent show rehearsal. I sang "THE CURSE," from the movie Rigolletto. I think it went well. I am introducing things I have been learning from my voice lessons into my non-school singing and I can tell a big difference, especially on the high notes. After the rehearsal, I took Anna on a date to Wendy's. She just loves her chicken nuggets, but especially the frosty.

I love it! You are so in your element, Jill! It is so amazing how easy things come to us when we love them. Great job! I am so happy for you!

Ciao!
