Swaddling

I have been swaddling both children before naptime and bedtime and it has been working wonderfully. My husband says it seems that we spend our entire life trying to recreate the feelings of being in the womb. ;o) Kristina does especially well before naptime and bedtime. She snuggles right up and is so affectionate and sweet during the rocking time. She is easy to love. :o)

Today we picked out some glasses for Keith. They are bronze-colored - they match his beautiful eyes. In one week (when they're hopefully ready to be picked up) I'll post some pictures. He wasn't too thrilled about them, I must say. But, the one year warranty on them was a little reassuring. Keith has also decided that he LOVES the bath. It's amazing the change in him. Today he sat in the tub and actually *gasp* splashed the water with his hands! And when daddy took him out - a HUGE fit until he was placed back in the bathtub. What a funny little guy.

It's amazing to me how many newly adopted children are terrified of their baths, and how quickly they learn to love them. It seemed like torture to Ava for months after we adopted her, brushing her teeth too. But now she loves both. I'd love to see Keith wearing glasses!

I love the swaddling! Even my teenage daughter likes to wrap herself in a throw blanket and cuddle with me on the couch. I pray your kids never out grow their desire to cuddle!

I sure love cuddling with my little ones too. There's nothing better than that... except maybe cuddling with my hubby. ;) It's great that Keith is enjoying his baths now. I would think that even the tantrums are a great sign because it shows he knows you care for him and that you respond to his needs. I bet Keith will be even more adorable with his new glasses, and it sounds like that warranty is a MUST!

Jyly got glasses a month after we got home. She has done great with them and we have only used the warr. once in almost a year. She also hated the bath and loves it now. I think it is because they had 2 tubs, twelve children and cold water in her room at the orphanage in Tokmok, Kyrgyzstan.
