Traditions, part eleven

Tis the season for those drinks that warm your heart!

Apple Cider. We didn't drink it while I was growing up - but Tyler is a huge fan, so I now make a point of having some around in December. The flavor can be a bit too strong for me, so I usually pass on it.
Hot chocolate. Seriously. Yum. My favorite kind ever is Walton Feed's brand - you have to order it and it takes like 3 months to arrive. I wish I were kidding. But it's worth the wait! I like to mix some half & half in mine with the hot water and then top with whipped cream. This year I discovered these and I've been putting them in my hot chocolate...SO tasty!

For the inevitable cold (which I currently have, myself) there is no substitute for herbal echinacea tea. It melts away your sore throat and you feel refreshed! I highly recommend it for you singers (and non-singers, too) who want a healthy throat and immune system this winter.

What drinks are a must for you this time of year?

Egg nog mixed with Ginger Ale! And I'll join you for a mug of hot chocolate or cider as well! The tea I have to be in the mood for, but you're right that it's the best when you're sick.

ya know what you should add to your cider... mulling spice! it's amazing! you can find it at a store in the beavercreek mall...i forget what it's called, but it looks like a craft type store and it smells divine! But, anyways, the mulling spice will make the cider taste so much better. I don't really like cider in the super market, but when i add the mulling spice it tastes so much better!

as for the drinks i like during the holidays...cider or cranberry juice with mulling spice (hot) and i love eggnog, but i'm not a fan of the traditional flavor. I tend to llike the gingerbread or cinnamon flavors.
