Don’t give up. Don’t you quit. You keep walking. You keep trying. There is help and happiness ahead. You keep your chin up. It will be all right in the end. Trust God and believe in good things to come. Some blessings come soon, some come late, and some don’t come until heaven; but for those who embrace the gospel of... Jesus Christ, they come. -Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

Scenario #1 results
Ummm, so, yeah. We finally were able to take Anna in to the ER tonight (we've had snowstorms this week) and the official diagnosis: Anna has a contusion on her heel. They gave her this little boot thing and some crutches. I've been advised to give her tylenol for pain and that she should be completely better in 2-3 weeks. I feel awful for having doubted Anna in her complaints of pain. I'll do better next time!

I feel so sorry for her!
Ya know, I thought I was the only one in the world to love Kermit!
Keep puttin' the lime in the coconut--K!
Blessings..
Poor Anna. But as I've learned over the past few months, this is all part of childhood and they often bounce back sooner than we do. We tend to be hard on ourselves and it just means we love them.
I'm glad you were finally able to make it to the ER. And, I'm glad that it wasn't anything worse. :)
You are def. not the only mom to second guess her kid. Luckily she'll be fine, so it wasn't that bad to wait and see. Glad it's not too bad. Good luck in the next few weeks!
I am glad you were able to get her to the doctor. You are a great mom.
Yup, that is a lot like my Daven story. ;)
I sat in our car looking at my
son's thumb that he had hurt a
few days before- Asking him are you sure you want to go to the doctor?- I looked fine to me-
The doctor took one look and said-
It's broken and sent me to the hospital- My son had a cast for a few weeks!
I know how you feel- It is hard to judge sometimes if they are
really hurt!
Awwww - give her some hugs for me.
Don't beat yourself up. You're an AWESOME mom!
Aww, poor girl! I hope she heals soon!
Poor Anna!! Here's to a speedy recovery!
But, I gotta say I almost always have to take a second to reeeealllly asses the damage when my kids say they are hurt. Kids love attention and nothing gets them more than a little owie. Don't beat yourself up, Jill. I would've done the same thing. If we didn't,we would be in the ER all the time.
Poor baby! But just to make you feel better, last summer Matthew complained that his arm hurt but it didn't look broken or anything so I let it go for several days. I finally took him to the doctor and they ordered an x-ray and he had a fracture in his bone. I felt AWFUL. So hopefully you will feel better knowing that you are not alone!!
Thanks, guys. It's nice to know that I'm not alone on this. :o)
I hope she feels better soon! :) Have fun with whatever trips you decide to do!
Sorry for little Anna, but I would have second-guessed her hurtness, too. I always do with my kids and 9 out of 10 I'm correct, but then that once makes you feel so bad! Don't worry, you're human and a mother! :)
The Cabbage rolls turned out really good. You should def try them out!
I did the same thing when Zhenya broke his arm--it wasn't displaced and he could move everything so I didn't think it was broken. But when he was still complaining about it a few hours later we took him to the Urgent Care. Sure enough--broken! It's okay to doubt them, and it's a sign of a good mom if you sometimes doubt yourself! ;) LOL
