So both Tyler & I felt that I should probably get my knee looked at - just to make sure everything was intact. They planned to get an xray, but did a pregnancy test first. We have wanted more children for 7 years, but up until a month or two ago, we were preventing. Then we decided to not prevent anymore. So they had to do a pregnancy test. If you recall, I have awful veins - so getting stuck is NEVER a fun thing for me. For those 20 minutes while waiting for the results, I actually allowed myself some hope that we COULD be pregnant - which is something I haven't had since we did infertility treatments 2 years ago. It was hard not to hope - but the test was negative. *sigh* Even though I figured I wasn't pregnant - it's still hard to be told that. I am hopeful, however, that one day we will have another baby.

The xray was negative - no breaks. They put me on a narcotic and gave me crutches. The doctor said it will take about 7-10 days to heal completely. Wow. If only it could have happened after our house was put together. *heavy sigh* Poor Tyler is now having to deal with everything on his own, while I hobble around on my crutches.

On the upside, I have most of my Christmas cards put together and are ready to be mailed, plus I am expecting my new phone anyday. My shadow 2 phone has been replaced 3x and they are sending me a blackberry - I hope I will like it!

I am planning a Christmas party at my house in a couple of weeks. It is something to get excited about and to plan - both are things that I thrive on! What fun activities do you have planned this month?

I'm glad your knee isn't even worse than it is...but saying that, I'm so sorry it happened now! Uggh, what horrible timing! I'm so glad you have such a wonderful husband to help you out.

It is wonderful your children are getting settled into school and the area. I'm so excited for you in your new place!

Here's to hoping you heal well and quickly!

Sorry about your knee. It stinks to be down! We're all now on round three in as many weeks of being flat down sick. Good luck with getting settled. You are also VERY brave to plan a party so soon after you move. My house will not be put together until at LEAST next summer or fall - pretty close to a full year after we moved in. Such is life with a fixer upper and an unfinished basement.

As for the pregnancy test, that bites. I remember those days of hoping against hope that it might actually be positive...and the letdown that followed when it wasn't, even though I knew before the test did that I wasn't pregnant. I about fainted when I found out with Amanda and the other, well, I knew the minute we concieved and I also knew that something was wrong, too. That one ended in miscarraige at 8 weeks after I had been so sick I thought I was going to die. And now, well, we haven't prevented for years and I'm pretty sure I'd have the all the fear of the universe fall on me if I had to go through another pregnancy test. It's entirely possible, I suppose, though.

I'm glad that your knee isn't broken, but that stinks that you have to be on crutches. I hope it heals sooner rather than later.

I'm so sorry that you had to go through the pregnancy test ordeal - I've been reading through your blog archives recently and so your words on infertility are fresh on my mind. I'm sending hugs and well-wishes your way.

Sorry to hear about your knee, but at least its not broken. I read somewhere you should wait 6 months to get pregnant after getting banded. I only know this because I am scheduled to be banded 12/22, but right now my insurance company has denied it. I am praying they change their minds. My surgeon and I are appealing it.
