Anna's Birthday to Happy 9th Anniversary

So I'm sure I'm not the only person who is still recovering from the holidays...therefore I haven't found any time to blog before now. So let's catch up, shall we?

Kristina found her Aunt Shelbee's mascara and thus explains these two raccoon shots:

Late on December 30th, I was up making 4x recipes of Strawberry crepes for Anna's birthday breakfast. And there was much rejoicing.

This is a typical picture at my grandparents' house. Men love their newspapers.

On Anna's birthday, I took Anna to get a pedicure. She was amazed at all of the different colors of nail polish. She chose purple, of course.

Anna loved the pedicure. She asked the lady SO many questions and talked non-stop. Afterwards, Anna had her ears pierced with pretty rainbow gem flower earrings. She cried afterwards, but perked up after a reminder of her lunch date. We went to ROSS to get her a dress, jeans, shorts, and an outfit. THEN we ate lunch at Braum's, per her request. Anna especially likes the ice cream at Braum's...yum!

Aunt Shelbee and cousin, M, joined us.

My long-time friend, Sarah, drove up to celebrate with us.

On January 1st, we all went to CiCi's pizza for dinner and then bowling. A fun time was had by all.

My adorable niece, Iliana, & I

Kristina & I after Kristina became overwhelmed with bowling. Poor baby.

The aftermath of the pinata - starburst candy everywhere!

January 2nd, 2010 - a day that I will always remember. We woke up and I made a big batch of chili. Then we hurried off for Anna's baptism in the Stillwater Stake Center. We got there and the building was locked, which meant the baptismal font wasn't filled up like we were told it would be. We waited and waited before we got in and started filling up the font. THEN we found out that the white jumpsuits (white clothes used for the baptism, itself) were at a different building. Long story short, we started the baptism an hour later than originally planned. Other than that - it was a wonderful program. Look at the beautful baptismal programs that my incredibly talented sister-in-law, Tisha, made!

My adorable sister-in-law, "Shelbee Baby"

My son, Keith, looking quite handsome.

Our family waiting for the baptism to begin.

My "Mrs. Oklahoma" sister, Heather, & I

I accompanied Anna & M singing "When I Am Baptized". They sounded like angels singing.

Anna ready to be baptized. I am so proud of my baby girl!

After the baptism, we had chili at my Grandma's house. Then we went down to the OKC temple where Keith & Kristina were sealed to us forever. The Temple Sealing took on more meaning when I was able to see Keith & Kristina's faces as they were sealed to us. It was a very special occasion that I will never forget.

After the sealing, some of us went to Johnny Carino's for dinner. Yum! Then the next day we headed back to Sunny Florida!

Yesterday, Tyler & I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary! As a gift, we bought ourselves a nice bedroom set for our room - something we've never had in our 9 years of marriage! We found it at an estate sale - a screaming deal, too. Then Tyler bought me some beautiful daisies and I bought him a gumball machine for work. Last night I made us some chicken alfredo, rolls, and some apple-grape martinellis non-alcoholic drink, with some chocolate cheesecake for dessert. YUM! Anna took the following picture of us:

I am so grateful to be married to Tyler. He treats me so well, sticks up for me, supports me, and loves me unconditionally. I am grateful for him and for our marriage. Happy Anniversary Honey Bunny!

Congrats on all of it! You've packed a lot of milestones in a short amount of time. I can see why you're still recovering!

I, too, will never forget the day my kids were sealed to us. It was an experience that was amazing and beautiful and everything else beyond description. It made all the stress we'd been through just getting to that point worth it!

My son's baptism day was equally neat. Because he'd known nothing of the gospel before we adopted him, we waited a few months beyond his 8th birthday so he could aquaire enough English that we could teach him the discussions in English. That was such a cool experience. In virtually every way, his was a convert baptism. Our home teacher came every Sunday for 8 weeks to teach the discussions. We were hoping the full time missionaries would be able to do it, but because he was baptized while he was still 8, we couldn't. It was still neat, anyway.

What a wonderful last month you've had. Congrats to Anna on her baptism, congrats to the Pierce family for being sealed for eternity, and congrats to Jill and Tyler on 9 years of marriage! That's awesome!

I sang "When I Am Baptized" at my own baptism. Great choice, Anna :)

Also, the crepes sound yummy - care to share the recipe? Oh, and I love the yellow shirt (and also the red one) that you're wearing in the photos. You have such awesome taste in fashion and always wear the cutest clothes.
