Pneumonia

I found out yesterday that I have a mild case of pneumonia. Sure. Why not? I don't have a lot going on. Bring it.

The kids don't have school on Monday. I am thinking to hit the beach. It's free and lots of fun. Of course, this will only work if I'm feeling better by then. *fingers crossed*

Tyler had a parent/teacher conference with Anna's teacher yesterday. Anna is extremely bright and does very well academically in school. Socially, however, she is lacking. She says that she doesn't have many friends and that one girl, M, doesn't like her. Anna's teacher, Mrs R, had some good suggestions to help Anna fare better among her classmates. Last night, at dinner, we discusssed all of this with Anna. I think it was a lot to take in, as Anna burst into tears over it. She definitely inherited my sensitivity. Poor girl.

Aside from school, there is a military youth center that Anna has been attending some afternoons during the week. She gets to play with children of military families. She loves it. She says that she feels very comfortable there and is always up for going. While I am happy that she enjoys the youth center, I wish that she could feel the same way about school. *sigh*

Here are some pictures of the twins at school:

Keith with a fire hose. This is just so perfect for him. :)

Iryna all dressed up! Isn't she adorable?

Above is a video of Iryna participating in the jump rope for heart. :) I remember doing that when I was young. The video is poor quality, though.

Remember that it is very positive that Anna is thriving in the youth group. This might help her gain confidence in her social skills, and give her more selfconfodence. I also think the teacher should work with Anna and the other girl, so that they can get to know each other better.Could you ask some of her classmates over for some fun one day? By experience that seems to help.Monica

Sorry about the pneumonia. :( We're all sick too. No fun. I seriously can't believe you could go to the beach this time of year. Wow... enjoy!
