Last minute decision

I had a great time when my in laws came to visit us. I love spending time with family. At the same time that Tyler's parents were visiting, my sister, Rachel, flew to OK to visit family there. I was super jealous and even shed some tears as I longed to spend some time with my family there, too. We go home to OK every other Christmas and it's been almost 2 years since I was in OK. This year, we're planning to go back to OK in December. However, we don't know how long we'll be able to stay and visit. It all depends on how long our second trip to Russia is to adopt Calvin and Silas. We may only be in OK for a few days. This past year, three nephews and one niece have joined my family and I want to meet them! So...I did something that is totally unlike me and I made the last minute decision (if you know me, I'm such a planner) to pack up my kids and head to TX/OK for a visit. We left this morning and drove for 10 hours. We're at a hotel in Mississippi. Tomorrow we'll arrive at my brother's house in Texas. The kids were excited to go, but naturally were a little bored in the car. I booked the hotel room yesterday and the kids were all hyped up to swim, but the pool was cold so the twins weren't that excited about it. We had dinner at IHOP, which was a HUGE hit with the kids. Their salad tasted so good after having fast food on the road. Yum.

Iryna and Anna loved the strawberry pancakes with eggs, bacon, and sausage. Keith has macaroni and cheese - no big surprise there. And they had a special where you get one kid's meal free with purchase of an adult entree. Nice. We're having fun so far - but I'm beat from driving for 10 hours! Goodnight all!
