Pig’s Feet

It is February and we have snow on the ground, which I love. It is a Saturday, so the kids are happily playing on electronic devices which they rarely get to use during the week. Calvin is making dinner tonight: baked potatoes, raspberry jello with pears, and mixed vegetables. It is fun when the kids can make a full meal mostly by themselves.

I had a grocery pickup and Michael volunteered to go pick it up. He returned with a rather small load and once the first bag came inside, I knew there was a mistake. I called Walmart and, sure enough, they had given us someone else’s grocery pickup. Due to Covid, they are unable to accept the items back again. So we were obliged to keep them.

It is always a curious thing for me to see what other people buy and this was no exception. Six pig’s feet, a large bag of frozen crawfish, chocolate milk, a big jar of jalapeños, and twinkies were among the bags. I was happy that some of my kids had no clue what a Twinkie was! I don’t buy that sort of food and it felt like a small victory.

I was able to go and pick up our grocery pickup and all was right in the world again. #somanypigsfeet #whyohwhy
