Happy Birthday Silas!

Whenever a birthday rolls around...it seems only natural to reflect back on their lives. Silas was the youngest child for us to adopt. He's the closest thing I have had to a baby since Anna. Silas was 18 months when I first met him and he was 2 1/2 years old when we brought him home. He is such a spunky fellow - with plenty of energy to spare. He enjoys making others smile. He enjoys being active and playing outside. He is in kindergarten this year. He loves going to church and learning about Jesus. His ADHD/FAS greatly affects him, but I am hopeful that in time he will learn how to reign himself in. Here are some photos from his childhood:

He was actually warming up to me at this point. Ha ha.

First time meeting Silas - he was scared.

Play time in the orphanage.

One of the hardest things ever - witnessing Silas recover from heart surgery.

Passport photo. Look at that sweet face! And those blue eyes.

I love this precious boy!

Gotcha Day!

Brothers meeting each other for the first time.

We are so happy to have Silas in our family. It's hard to believe that he is SIX years old. The balloon fairy got fancy this year and drew Spider-Man on the red balloons.

Silas requested strawberry crepes for breakfast.

My best friend, Nichole, made his AWESOME Spider-Man birthday cake.

I just love this pumpkin so much!

Spider-Man presents abounded!

Dear Silas - I hope you know how much I love you. You are precious to me. I love your snuggles and I am not ready for you to grow up - but I am looking forward to getting to know you better and to see your potential. I love you.
