What's in a name?

So! My grandparents are coming to visit us this weekend! We are very excited to have them all to ourselves for 3 whole days. In addition to their visit, they are bringing (and giving us) their van! We are so blessed! It is a 1999 Plymouth Voyager, which looks like this:

We are quite grateful to have the extra space (and fewer mileage) that this van will offer us. I am sure that Anna is most grateful, as she has been competing for space in the backseat of our honda accord with 2 carseats! Since Kristina is afraid of big vehicles, we thought we would name our van. I am open to suggestions.

That is soooo amazing! Maybe name it something in Russian? I don't know if that would help or hurt the situation. Would it make them confused? It would need to be fairly easy to say for those of us who aren't fluent. :o) What is car in Russian? Or maybe a common Russian nick name. Kinda like mon petit chou in French... Okay, it's late. I'm not making sense.

I'm thinking Lucky-Lucy. It's a friendly, happy name. I hope you have good luck with Kristina and the car.

I vote for "Ol' Blue". It's so original, I know! :)

I'm terrible at naming vehicles. I just wanted to chime in my congrats for getting a van. I'm sure all three kids will appreciate it =)

I always call all big cars "Bessie".

Congrats!

BTW - small cars are called "Nellie".

I don't know why. It's just a thing since I was a kid!

Yeah for you! A mom-mobile is a must with more than two kids :-)

I'm quite partial to the name "Bessie" for big blue vehicles. When my hubby and I were engaged, I was unemployed and he had a great big robin egg blue 1980 Ford Fairmont Station Wagon named "Blue Bessie" It was a hand-me-down from his parents and was the car his mom used to drive all over creation as she delivered Avon. We joked all the time that he married me for my money and I married him for his car. :-)

We had Bessie for about 2 years before a little old granny ran a red light and totaled her. When my hubby called to tell me about the wreck, I made sure he was ok, and then I actually cheered when he told me Bessie had been totaled. Unfortunately, from day one the relationship with his mom has been strained and I always felt like his mother when I drove the thing.

On a newer car, the damage may have been repairable, but on Bessie, they WAY exceeded the value of the car. With a few modifications that rendered her not street legal, she was still able to run, though. So we sold her as a demolition derby car on the condition they told us when and where they'd be driving her so we could come and cheer her on - which we did. It honestly was so much fun! Most people cheer for their favorite drivers. We cheered for our Bessie, who did really well in her last hurrah - before being crumpled into a Geo Metro by a big bully muscle car that is.

How's that for an inspriational story? :-)

hooray for more space in a car! Three kiddies need a van (in my opinion!) Aren't families such blessings?!
