Date Nights

I am so thankful for time away with my sweet husband once a week. I have been blessed with such a fantastic husband who makes time to spend with me. I find that we are happier as a couple when we make date nights a priority.

You are very, very, very fortunate to be able to do that. Prior to adoption, we were able to do them regularly. Sadly, they had to go by the wayside when we adopted the boys. We simply couldn't leave them with babysitters. The price we paid once we came home was simply not worth it. The fall-out from Matthew was too much and every single time overrode any benefits of leaving him. It's getting better now the kids are getting older and we have family close by. The two older kids are old enough to stay home by themselves for a little while, but we still can't leave Matthew with them. He completely freaks and becomes destructo boy, both to them and to the house. So, mostly we just do lunch dates while the big kids are in school and usually have to take the little one with us. But it's what we can do and we make it work.

I agree. I believe that date nights are absolutely wonderful and help to keep a marriage healthy. My husband and I try to have a date night once a week as well. You are truly blessed with a wonderful husband as well. I also consider myself blessed to have my husband. This day in age it is very hard to find a wonderful spouse, one that is faithful not only to his wife, but to our Heavenly Father and a faithful father to his child(ren). I hope you enjoy(ed) your date night.
