It's the most wonderful time of the year

Like many of you - I love this time of year. I love the music, the getting together with family and friends, the food, and the, um, "cooler" weather. Today it got down to 64 degrees here in FL. *shiver* I've been wearing flip flops for the past 2 weeks that we've been here. I will be in for a surprise when we go to OK for Christmas - if my memory serves me correctly, it's a tad colder there than in Florida.

My blackberry FINALLY came in the mail. I've been playing with it and am slowly figuring it all out. There are more buttons, but more options than my previous cell phones.

My knee is still hurting me. It's been a week now and it's still quite painful and especially painful to the touch - which I discovered when Kristina used it to steady herself earlier today. OUCH! I have some pain meds from the doctor but they make me very drowsy, so I don't like to take them all that often, except for at night.

I heard back from the doctor here about getting a referral to see someone in the bariatric department. I had my lapband surgery 2 months ago, but am still needing an adjustment made. I was told by the doctor that it will take some time to see someone and have the adjustment. According to his time table - it will be after Christmas/New Years. Part of me is ready for the change, but who can complain with being able to enjoy the holidays a bit more? C'mon now, you all know what I'm sayin', right?

We've been working on the house a bit slower lately. My knee prevents me from doing much around the house. The kids' Christmas tree is up and decorated and my the adults' tree is up and has lights but no decorations as of yet. However, Anna has managed to have her Daddy "promise" that we WILL be decorating the tree tonight. A little hot chocolate might be in order, too. :o)

We've been watching Christmas videos every 2 days or so. I love watching these cartoons with my kids. Plus we've been reading out of my favorite Christmas book: The Tall Book Of Christmas. I love it! And it's so fun to hear Anna get excited about the story we're reading because she remembers it from last year. :o)

Yuckers on your knee! We actually have been having "cold" weather here. Yesterday the high was only in the 50s! I, too, think we will be in for a shock when we go to OK for Christmas. Brrr!

Have fun with your new Blackberry!

I told Rob that I wanted to start a new tradition where we read a children's christmas story (book)on Christmas Eve as a couple and eventually as a family :)

p.s. my friend is getting the lap band surgery on Dec 22. :)

Hope your knee gets to feeling better. It may not be something that some stretching and exercizes will fix, but it may be worth asking the Doc when you see him/her. I have had runners knee forever and it swells up every time I run more than 2 miles. (Which is a few times a week) It's been something that I love to hate. And only recently have I found out that there are stretches and exercises that I can do to help my knee. They hurt initially, but after working at it for a few minutes each time the pain gradually dissapates. Ice is also a great thing!! Good luck!
