Sleep

Normally after I get the kids on the bus, I retreat to my bed and sleep another couple of hours before I get up. This morning, while I was trying to go back to sleep, I thought of the following scripture:

D&C 88: 124

Cease to be idle; cease to be unclean; cease to find fault one with another; cease to sleep longer than is needful; retire to thy bed early, that ye may not be weary; arise early, that your bodies and your minds may be invigorated.

The last part of the scripture especially got me thinking. Arise early, that your bodies and your minds may be invigorated. I could sure use some invigoration, so I got out of bed and shuffled through the house. I ate some trix cereal, but for some reason that didn't get me going (wonder why...). It actually took an hour or two before I was able to do much, but I want to follow this scripture and I think that if I continue to not return to bed, two things will happen: 1. I will start getting to bed earlier than 11:30pm & 2. I will begin to feel invigorated for adhering to what's been asked of me.

Yeah, I was gonna point out the early to bed, early to rise go hand in hand in that scripture!

Good for you Jill. I have a hard time getting up in the morning too. It is a lot easier for me to get up in the morning when I go to bed early.

This has always been difficult for me as well. I just really enjoy that time at night after the kids go to bed and it's finally QUIET. So, it's hard for me to give that up, but I know it is best and I feel so much better when I go to bed early and get up early. Good luck!
