School is OUT! It's time for summer vacation. This is how we began the summer vacation...Keithy was exhausted and the video games have been getting some good use. Iryna is now in potty training school and we hope she will graduate very soon. We are using sunglasses as rewards for successes in the potty. Wish us luck (and sanity!).
I am interested in doing some summer schooling with Anna. She just finished up 2nd grade. I am toying with the idea of homeschooling Anna next year. I am reading this book which was recommended to me, which is a little extreme, but does has some good ideas.. I've heard that the Montessori program is also good. Any fun programs out there that you would recommend??

Yay for summertime! We're gearing up for school out next week and our move. Good luck on the potty-training front...cross our fingers, but I think Gunner is basically trained.
From the books I've read on homeschooling, it's like anything else---you pick and choose what works for you and your kids. But, I know for myself that many homeschooling mama friends have used and had much success with the Beka math books serie and The Story of the World for history. You may look into your local yahoo groups for homechooling umbrella groups wich will provide social support and of coure other book ideas. Good luck!
Your summer starts early. Our schools don't get out until June 18th. We are still enjoying the summer fun. It looks like you have a fun couple of months ahead of you.
