My week in a nutshell

I am realizing that being in school full-time can affect how often I have time to blog. Here's what's been going on in my world:

-Iryna stuck a bead up her nose. She had to go see a specialist to get it out. We had no idea the bead was even there, until a routine check-up with the pediatrician found it. Who knows how long it's been up her nose. Ugh.

-During Anna's eye exam a couple of months ago, the optometrist noticed that sometimes Anna has double vision. (!!!) She met with a specialist this week and he said that one of the nerves in her eye isn't functioning. She is going to get an MRI soon and then we'll meet back with the specialist to discuss what should be done. In addition to all of this, seeing double vision causes Anna to have headaches and nausea. Poor girl. :(

-Last Saturday night, we noticed some water leaking from under the dishwasher. It turns out that a pipe burst in the wall and it has leaked under the kitchen and into the living room. Plus is stinks horribly. We were unable to use the kitchen sink (water had to be turned off) for 3 whole days. No cooking, cleaning, zip. This prompted eating out for monday and tuesday night (papa johns and texas roadhouse) - no complaints about that. Of course, now the sink is working, but there's a ton of dishes from DAYS ago that need to be cleaned...must...find...motivation...

-I ordered some scrubs for my nursing class. They didn't fit. I went up one size, too small. I went up TWO sizes and they fit, but were crazy big in several places and the pants kept falling down. Nice. So I asked my sweet friend, Michelle, to help me alter them. Now I have two pairs of scrubs that fit nicely AND she's making me some cute scrub tops. She's wonderful. I feel cute in my scrubs. :)

-I am doing well in my nursing class. I've scored 100% on every test and quiz, except for one that I scored 96%. I enjoy what I am learning and can see the benefit of knowing how to be a CNA, whether it is working, taking care of my family, or caring for my parents when they are older. I see God's wisdom in leading me to take this course. I feel so blessed.

When my brother was about Iryna's age he stuck toilet paper up his nose to block out the smell of a skunk. My dad had to come home from work (he was a Crew Chief at the time) and pull them out with tweezers. My mom told him to never to do that again. So the next week he stuck beans up his nose instead! My mom asked him why he did that he said "it wasn't toilet paper." my dad got to come back home early to take him and get them removed.

Poor Anna! Hope she get's feeling better.

Congrats on your scores!

Sounds like some rough things, but way to see the positive. I think nursing would be a great thing for you, since you're so compassionate towards others.

I'm glad you feel cute in your scrubs. It's important that we feel cute as often as we can :) Great job on the nursing scores!

Man, that is a lot going on....you fit it so compactly into your relatively small blog post. Sounds like you are taking it in stride. You are amazing!
