Keith is now "saying" prayers all by himself. We can make out the beginning and ending parts, but the middle? We have no idea what he's praying about. It's so sweet. I know that God finds his prayers as precious as I do.

Yesterday, we went to a special needs function that had booths from various organizations that cater to families with special needs. There were also fun activities for the kids to do. One lady came up to Iryna and said that she was ready to paint her face after she was finished eating her doughnut. Before the lady left, she told me that Iryna was adorable. After she walked away, Iryna very seriously said to me: "I'm adorable." Yes, baby, you sure are.

There was a booth there about SLED HOCKEY for those with physical disabilities. We are thinking of taking both Iryna & Keith to see if they'd like to play. Apparently, there is a very famous player of SLED HOCKEY who was adopted from Ukraine. Neat, eh? Anyone have any experience with this sport?

After doing some grocery shopping at the commissary, I took the kids to CVS for a very quick stop. One hour later, we finally were able to leave - problems with their computers and the worker's lack of know-how - with 3 wired children and one very tired, frustrated, and cranky mama. We headed to Sonic for dinner. Nothing says comfort food quite like a hamburger, tater tots, & a cherry dr pepper, oh yeah.

It was super humid yesterday and I wasn't drinking enough fluids, so I became dehydrated and had to rest this morning and drink a lot of water. Ever since we went to Ukraine and I became dehydrated there, I've been more prone to it. In fact, I've had to go in to the ER to get an iv on a few occasions when it was really bad. I was frustrated to miss church (again! I missed last week because of the whole abdominal pain/ER visit) but I feel better now after I've rested and drank lots of water.

This afternoon, Tyler gave me a blessing. Tomorrow is the beginning of the nursing assistant program. I've gone back and forth on whether or not I should attend. My health have been up and down lately. I've prayed to know if it was the right thing and I didn't get an answer. Tyler, however, prayed about it a few times and strongly felt that it was right for me each time. In the blessing, God confirmed that it was right for me to do this course, that he would give me the strength to do it, and that it would be a blessing to me, my family, and those around me throughout my life. That was all I needed to hear. I'm definitely going to bed early tonight and tomorrow morning I will be refreshed, replenished, and raring to go! Wish me luck!

Have you been tested for diabetes- aren't dehydration and stomach pains symptoms of diabetes?

Yes, I was tested for diabetes, and I do not have it. My doctor says that I have acid reflux as a result from my most recent lapband adjustment. He put me on zantac, which is helping, thankfully! Thanks for asking! :D

Great!- My sister(a nurse) runs a diabetic clinic so I know how important it is to get tested.

I would love to see an update on all the changes in Keith- he has come so far since you adopted him.

What do you put in the kids' lunches, if not sandwiches? I'd like more ideas for lunch as our scool is a peanut-free school...boo

Aww, Jill...crazy stuff going on in your life, that's for sure.

Adorable about Keith's prayers, though. Joshua has just started saying his own, and we can only understand a few phrases here and there. I'm sure God can understand them and that's what counts. And Iryna is also quite adorable. I love how kids are sometimes :)

So sorry to hear about the dehydration. I'm glad Tyler gave you a blessing and that you feel this is the direction you should go. Best of luck!

I would love to hear Keith's sweet prayers. He is growing up so fast. Iryna truly is adorable. I am sorry you have had so many trials with your health. I hope you are feeling better soon. I am really excited for you to do this nursing program. Thank goodness for priesthood blessings to help us in our time of need.

It's been ages since I looked at your blog. Your family is really growing. Congratulations about your CNA program. Betsey just started one also, at Sinclair. She is also taking other classes there--working towards getting into their Surgical Tech program. This is quite a step for her, considering that she spent 4 years in bed quite ill, until she found out she is sensitive to gluten. Once she figured that out, her life changed dramatically.
