I'm giving a talk

LDS.org - Ensign Article - Words of Jesus: Humility

I am giving a talk tomorrow on Humility. Above is an article that I'm referencing for the talk. I enjoy giving talks in church. I prefer to sing, but giving talks are nice, too. It's my way of being able to talk about things that I find interesting and to be able to share my testimony with my brothers and sisters in the gospel. I am looking forward to it. I may even post my talk on here tomorrow. Stay tuned.

Last night was a church rodeo. We all had a great time. I haven't been to a rodeo since high school in OK. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed the "Mutton Busters" when they had little kids ride bareback on sheep. Very cute.

Tonight was a cake auction at the spaghetti dinner social at church. The auction is for girls and boys camp for our youth. I made this:

It sold for $75. Not too shabby, right? Plus, Tyler bid on what we thought was a boston cream pie, but ended up being a banana cream pie. Not quite the same thing, but it was tasty!

Today I went to a women's conference for RS at the Stake Center. I attended 3 classes: applying the scriptures in our lives, temple worship, and rising above the natural man, er, woman. Very interesting classes and I enjoyed meeting together with other wonderful women. It was a great day.

That was so nice of you to make that cake for the auction. It looks sooo delicious. I can't wait to read your talk. I am sure you did a great job. I wish I could have been there to hear it. I am glad you enjoyed the rodeo. Our family loves rodeos.

I really think that it's a talent to be able to enjoy sharing your feelings about the gospel through song and word (i.e. talks). Me, on the other hand...I'm a nervous wreck. I can't remember what I've prepared. I get all light-headed...it's a mess. I am really impressed with your abilities...and there are so many!! The rodeo sounds like so much fun. Your cake looks amazing...well worth the price paid. :)
