We just got back this morning from our cruise to the Bahamas. My friend, Sarah, watched the kids so Tyler & I could have some one-on-one time together. We've never done anything like this - it was glorious! Poor Tyler and Richard (Tyler's dad) were seasick for the first 24 hours, but they did better after that. I never felt sick (thankfully) but feel a little bit like the room is swaying back and forth right now - I had the same thing last year after our free cruise to the Caribbean.
We left from Port Canaveral, FL, and rode the Royal Caribbean's MONARCH OF THE SEAS cruise ship and went to the Bahamas and to the RC's own island, Coco Cay. We found out later that the MONARCH is a smaller ship and I think that caused Tyler's seasickness, not to mention the rough waters. In fact, many people were sick on the boat. We went on the cruise with Tyler's parents, Richard & Melanie, and our good friends, Josh & Nichole. We had a great time. Some highlights were my bamboo massage - it was so wonderful. I don't get massages very often - the last one was a year ago - but I find that it relaxes me in a way that I cannot do otherwise. We got a few souvenirs at the Bahamas and played trivia and games on the boat. The food was delicious and I worked the high protein diet for the majority of the cruise - allowing for some virgin piña coladas, too. :D
Buggy ride in the Bahamas and a picture in front of our ship.
We saw a show and it was fabulous! I loved all the music.
Formal night. We had a great time.
We had a great time. I look forward to the next cruise - whenever that will be! 2-3 years, probably. :)
