Karate

So Anna is now in Karate and is loving it. Since she was young, she has always gravitated towards fighting-related things...like Pokemon. Whenever I think of karate, I think of this episode of Seinfeld:

I imagine that Anna won't be dominating the class like Kramer, but she sure is eager to be the best. Unlike most karate classes, this includes therapy along with learning karate. It is geared towards helping kids learn to do their best and to raise their self esteem. Anna could use help in both areas. I am excited to see her progress.

Today I took Calvin to Cincinnati to have a preoperative heart echo. He did great and was able to go back to school while I took a much needed nap while Silas napped. We should set up a heart surgery for Calvin in a month or so. I am thinking right after Halloween, so he won't miss it. I am amazed at Calvin's positive outlook with all these doctor appointments and procedures. I don't think he even knows that his heart has problems, he just goes with the flow. Such a good boy. We had a good time together today. I think it's much easier to focus on one child at a time and I feel like a better mama when that happens.

Tomorrow is the Chocolate Festival from 10am-5pm. Tyler and I are going to head up a Choffy table and hand out Choffy samples to 4,000+ people! Wish us luck!

Jill, I wanted to thank you for your blog. I get so caught up in my own life and I appreciate reading about your triumphs and struggles. Thank you.

I'm excited for Anna. Gavin is in jujitsu and I think martial arts can have such a great impact on children's self-esteem and physical ability. I like seeing Gavin succeed.
