Day #2

Yes, I realize that "Day #2" should be following the "Day #1" post, but there isn't one so you can stop looking for it. ;) This is Day #2 on my food journal. I burned 400 calories in the gym and I've tried to not eat as high of carbs today:

Breaky: protein shake (1 scoop chocolate protein powder with 1 cup milk)
Snack: granola bar (only 100 calories!)
Lunch: leftover homemade spaghetti sauce with some hamburger meat and whole wheat noodles.
Dinner: Melisa's FABULOUS recipe for green chili grilled chicken with monterey jack cheese melted on top and corn on the cob.
For my snack I'm planning to eat some cantaloupe that I cut up earlier today...YUM!

All in all, it was a MUCH lower carb day than yesterday, so that's good. I think I may have met my protein goal for the day--or at least closer than ever before! It feels good to be more conscious of my eating habits, even though it's hard to make new habits. I ordered the magazine Cooking Light and that should help me out. I need healthy recipes and I think that will help me stay on track. It's wonderful how you ask Heavenly Father to help you with a trial, and before you know it you're inspired with ideas to help you not only get through a trial but CONQUER it. Yes, it's only the 2nd day on this program, but I already feel empowered. I'll just need to come back & re-read this post when it gets TOUGH.

I did laundry, dishes, read scrippys, & practiced the piano. My grandparents will be here on Sunday, so I'm trying to get the house all ready...

Yes, it is a fabulous recipe, but I can't take credit for it. It is from the same people that do that Cooking Light magazine. Awesome idea, by the way. I need to start doing a food journal again too. It is very enlightening! You go girl!
