I Love Garage Sales

This morning Tyler & Anna set up our swimming pool and I set out for some serious garage sale-ing. I got tons of summer clothes for Anna, including: snow white pajamas, capris, shorts (including jean), and shirts all for $8.50. Yeah. It was so fun! She's pretty much set for the whole summer now so I can stop worrying about it.

We watched Jana's son Carter while they went van shopping. Carter & Anna had a great time swimming in the pool and playing outside for 4 hours! It was hard for Anna to come down from her high when Carter went home; she LOVES playing with other kids.

I made an incredible recipe of cinnamon rolls that I got from Suzanne. I thought that cinnamon rolls would make a lovely Mother's Day breakfast, so I whipped them up today so I could just enjoy them tomorrow. :)

Tyler & Anna are watching that Garfield movie with Bill Murray as Garfield's voice. Anna laughs so hard when garfield & odie dance together--she rolls with laughter! It's so fun to hear her that amused over it.

I have some laundry to do--but I feel like taking a nap right now.

Hey, can I get in on that too? I'd even be willing to share some recipes out of bargain bin sushi cookbook I just got (is that an oxymoron to say sushi cookbook??) or even out of any of my other cookbooks.

FYI since I know you care...Tomorrow 10pm your time I will be presenting my very first (ever!) solo recital. Of course it's a bassoon recital and not voice, though I think early 2008 I'll be giving one of those too. Works to be performed are Merci Sonata No. 5 in C minor (ca. 1730), Maslanka Sonata for Bassoon and Piano (2004), Osborne Rhapsody for Bassoon (1948), and Ewazen Concerto for Bassoon and Wind Ensemble (2002). I'm a bit nervous, but not nearly as much as I expected to be by this time, so that's probably a good thing. Thought I'd let you know that that's why I've been fairly silent lately...lots of crammed practicing.

Talk to you later.
