Withdrawals

I feel like someone who's trying to overcome an addiction. I guess what I have is an addiction to food. Not cheap McDonalds style food, but good ol' fashioned comfort home cookin'. It is definitely an adjustment to the SBD, but I'm happy to report another successful day on my new lifestyle of eating. For exercise I decided to shake things up and swim laps during Anna's swimming lessons. I did this for 3 reasons: so I wouldn't be watching Anna non-stop afraid that she would drown (I'm paranoid, I know), because I LOVE to swim, and because I thought it would be good for me since it takes more pressure off my body. I swam about 12 laps and it was really fun! I think I'm going to swim on tues/thurs so I can have a change of pace in my exercise routine. I'm a bit sore, though...

Today Anna & I just hung out. We put together a puzzle, played games, worked on her "homework" (a book of pre-kindergarten activities), read stories & watched movies. It was a nice day. I needed to keep busy so I wouldn't think about eating and it's always fun to focus just on my little girl.

Tonight Anna had tee ball practice. Now I understand what my sister-in-law, Tisha, says about watching her boys play baseball=I feel like such a proud Mama when I see my little girl out there batting & fielding the ball. She's SUCH a cute girl and I'm thrilled to see some real athletic ability in her.

I admire all the efforts you're making. I'm sure you'll get used to the SBD soon enough--it really works for some people! And I'd like to put in my vote of support for you doing swimming: seriously, it's such a good workout (low impact, resistance and support for your body, etc) and it helps to have variation in your exercise routine. There are a lot of different strokes you can do, too--and get yourself a kickboard to focus on your legs and/or a noodle to focus on your arms. Good stuff. Wow, I want to go swimming now!
