Yesterday

For the first time in a few months, I was able to attend church yesterday. It was marvelous being there. I felt the Spirit, I reconnected with dear friends, and I had a special experience. I have had such health problems for the last 6 months plus I've been quite busy this past year with two new children - I haven't been able to serve in church much and I haven't had a calling for a year. Sometimes I will make myself feel guilty over this and not feel like I am contributing what I should be doing. However, yesterday while I was at church I was inspired with sweet words stating how much I have given to this ward - in my music callings and in my serving others along the way. It was like a "pat on the back" from God and it was so wonderful. I feel so blessed.

After church we had "quiet time" where we spend 1-2 hours reading, spending time in our rooms, or taking a nap. I very quietly made 98 peanut butter kiss cookies. ;) After quiet time we had FHE (family home evening) and talked about keeping the Sabbath Day Holy. We talked about what kinds of activities are appropriate for Sunday and which are not. There are some things that we discussed in the lesson that I will have to change, for example: not cleaning house on Sunday and preparing simple meals - the lesson even suggested making the meals on Saturday so we can spend less time in the kitchen and more time together as a family. Then for our activity, we took cookies to friends. It was a great day!

Today I have been a busy bee. I've done laundry, dishes, cooked, cut coupons, gone shopping, played with my kids, took Keithy to therapy, and wrote this post! We are still packing/moving stuff out. We have decided to find a new home for Jasper, our cat. It's difficult to find rental homes that allow cats and therefore, we want to find a place in OH. Any takers?

I'm so glad that you are feeling much better - and things will only get better from here on out. (I know for me, the more weight I lose, the better and more energetic I feel). I'm so proud of you!

Sounds like you had a great day yesterday - what a perfect way to spend a Sunday.

P.S. you must give me that cookie recipe some time - sounds delicious!
