National Anthem

This morning had the amazing opportunity again to sing the National Anthem at an Air Force ceremony on-base. I felt honored to be able to sing in front of so many people and, most importantly, to sing a song that I feel passionate about singing. I love this country of mine.

It was incredibly humid and the ceremony was held outside, so to say that I was sweating would be an understatement. I stood next to a general when I sang the National Anthem. I had prayed beforehand that I would be able to sing with my soul. I enjoyed singing it and I feel that I sang it well.

After I sat down, the general stood up for his speech. I was surprised to hear him ask where Mrs. Pierce was and, after locating me, he continued on to compliment me on my rendition of the song and how beautifully that I sang it. I was quite flattered and then became embarrassed when he led the whole audience in applause because of me. The next speaker, also a high-ranking official, complimented me as well during his speech.

Following the ceremony, there was a reception indoors (thankfully!). I was able to meet the general face to face and he complimented me again on my song. There were several other people who said nice things about it, too. It was marvelous opportunity! I am grateful for the talent of singing that my Heavenly Father has given to me. I hope to be able to share it with as many people as He wants me to. I am so blessed.

Wonderful! :) It's always amazing when you get to sing something that you love, that is important and beautiful. :)

I just had the opportunity to sing HaTikvah (the Israeli nathional anthem, "The Hope") at my brother's graduation. Such a great thing, when you get to include your soul and heart in your song.
