Closing in

This is my last week of lecture in the CNA course. Next week will be the final exam, 3 days of clinicals at a nearby nursing home, followed by graduation. I have applied to take the state board exam to become a certified nursing assistant. I will find out (by mail) when that test date will be - I am imagining sometime in November? We shall see.

Today I was pondering how far I have come in the CNA program. I remember when I first learned of the program being offered. I was excited to take it! However, as the program date came closer, I began to doubt myself being able to complete the course. I am a smart individual and I knew that I would do well in the academic realm of nursing. It was the physically demanding aspect of nursing that worried me. I am 5ft10in and 418 pounds. I cannot do everything. I am limited in what I can do physically.

The night before the CNA program, Tyler gave me a blessing that said I would be able to do everything that was required of me in the course and that I would be able to bless others that I would come to know. All of that has come to pass. I have been physically able - although at times it wasn't easy - to do what was asked of me. I was blessed with things such as beds being able to raise up, so I didn't have to bend over as much.

I was pleased to see how accepting all the other students were of me and how much they complimented me on my nursing skills. They said that it comes naturally to me and I agree with them. It feels like a great fit to be in nursing. I have also been able to be a real friend to the other students. The students and the instructor have noticed and commented on some of my talents and skills. It has been a wonderful and self-esteem boosting experience for me. I am grateful that God has blessed me to become a CNA.

Yeah! Glad you've found something you love to do!!

I didn't realize you are that tall! If you're 5'10 and at least from how it appears in your pictures, quite a bit shorter than Tyler, how tall is he?

It is such a blessing to find something that "feels" like it's what you are suppose to do. Congrats! So excited for you, and a tiny bit jealous.

Nice going Jill. It was great to read of your success! I am a CNA to!!! That is what I did back in Utah, before we moved to FL. I was the bath girl for quite a while, and then I did rehab with the patients. I think you will do wonderfully as a CNA.
(I tried to instant mes. you in your little online chat box, but I couldn't get it to work).
